Who are volunteers?
The Village Chapel volunteers are people in the church who work together to serve others in the community and advance the Kingdom for Jesus.

What opportunities are available?
The Village Chapel has six areas of ministry that are made up of multiple volunteer teams who serve on Sundays and during the week. Sign up for one of the teams below and someone will contact you about your next step.
Welcome Team
Greeting Team
Welcome guests from the parking lot to the auditorium. Time Commitment: 45 minutes before and 10 minutes after a service, every week or every other week Age Requirement: 12 years old
Information Team
Provide details about NewSpring Church to the guests at each service. Time Commitment: 45 minutes before and 10 minutes after a service, every week or every other week Age Requirement: 18 years old
Usher Team
Guide people to the nearest available seat in a quick and orderly fashion, and take up the offering. Time Commitment: 45 minutes before a service and the last 5 minutes of the service, every week or every other week Age Requirement: 18 years old
Parking Team
Welcome and direct guests to a parking place, and keep traffic flowing smoothly. Time Commitment: 1 hr on Sunday, every week or every other week Age Requirement: 18-years-old
Volunteer Headquarters Team
Assist volunteers with check-in, help them through the plug-in process, and ensure that all volunteers feel welcomed and appreciated. Time Commitment: 1.25 hours on Sunday, every week or every other week Age Requirement: 18 years old
Awake Coffee Team
Assist attendees with beverages and sweet snack choices. Time Commitment: 5-hour AM or PM shift once every three weeks (during the shift you are still able to attend a service) Age Requirement: 16 years old
Security Team
Secure our children’s areas, oversee general meeting places, and be on-hand for any situations that may arise. Time Commitment: 2 services on Sunday (either AM or PM), twice a month Age Requirement: 21 years old
Resource Center Team
Assist guests with sermon series, books, and other merchandise. Time Commitment: 45 minutes before and 20 minutes after a Sunday service. Age Requirement: 18 years old
Facility Cleaning Team
Maintain the clean and excellent appearance of our facilities on Sundays. Time Commitment: 1 hour on Sunday, every week or every other week Age Requirement: 12 years old
Atrium Design Team
Time Commitment: About every 4-8 weeks with opportunities during the day and in the evening for any amount of time Age Requirements: 12 years old
Office Team
Support every area of ministry by making phone calls, stuffing envelopes, organizing supplies or completing a number of administrative tasks. Time Commitment: Anytime 9am-5pm weekdays, or during a Sunday service Age Requirement: 18 years old

Tech Team
Production Team
Run computers, cameras, teleprompters, and record the service. Also maintain Sunday schedules and care for the volunteers. Time Commitment: All four services on Sunday, once a month. OR 2-3 hours on a week/weekend night, once a month Age Requirement: 18 years old
IT Team
Assist our IT staff with various computer, software, and server-related tasks as needed. Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week, Sunday-Thursday, as needed Age Requirement: 18-years-old
Communications Team
Help communicate Sunday experiences, ministry next steps, and special events through visual arts and writing. Made up of people with varying talents and skills, including graphic design, copy writing/proofing/editing, illustration, web development and page layout. Time Commitment: Varies upon time sensitive projects Age Requirement: 16 years old
Data Entry Team
Supports every ministry area through maintaining accurate information in our database. Time Commitment: Varies upon time sensitive projects Age Requirement: 18 years old
From operating PowerPoint and sound to trouble-shooting computer issues, the Tech teams use their skills in media production and technology to keep The Village Chapel on the cutting edge.
Care Team
Weekday Prayer Team
Pray throughout the week for the prayer requests received on Sunday. Time Commitment: 1 hour throughout the week Age Requirement: 18 years old
Sunday Care Team
Paraprofessionals trained in the skills of listening, goal-setting and providing biblical advice. (Not exclusive to licensed or paid professional therapists) Time Commitment: 30 minutes on Sunday, every week or every other week Age Requirement: 21 years old
Weekday Care Team
Reach out to others in a variety of ways – take meals to families who have lost loved ones or who have members experiencing illness and talk with people who have requested to speak with a NewSpring Care Team member. Time Commitment: One hour throughout the week. For certain areas of the team the nature of the opportunity requires your schedule to be flexible enough to serve when called upon. Age Requirement: 18 years old
Handyman Team
Extend the love of Christ to the community of Anderson in a variety of ways – add ramps to homes of wheelchair-bound individuals, paint and clean up houses, and work on other projects as they arise. Time Commitment: 4-5 hours per event, once or twice a month Age Requirement: 18 years old
Care teams serve people in need of love and support through everything from providing meals to prayer and encouragement to community projects.
Outreach Team
Membership Assimilator
Speak with individuals at membership classes to assess their understanding of the church covenants and requirements for membership. Enjoy talking with potential members about their salvation experience and background. Time Commitment: Three hours on a week/weekend evening, once or twice a month. Age Requirement: 21 years old.
Membership
Smile and make potential members at Membership Classes feel welcome. Also help with check-in, food serving or various other tasks as needed. Time Commitment: Three hours on a week/weekend evening, once or twice a month Age Requirement: 18 years old
Groups Leader
Be dedicated to lead other people by spending one night of the week leading a small group of people in fellowship, Bible study and prayer. Time Commitment: 1.5 hours on a week/weekend evening, once a week Age Requirement: 18 years old
The Outreach team takes the Love of God into our community through visitation, neighborhood teams, and community outreach.
Children’s Ministry
The Majestic Playhouse (6 weeks – 5 years old)
Lead NewSpring’s nursery, preschool and grade school children in relevant, age-appropriate activities and lessons. Time Commitment: Two hours on Sunday Age Requirement: 18 years old (there are opportunities to assist in these rooms for volunteers in the 6th grade – 17 years old)
The Majestic
Actors, worship leaders, and media technicians. Time Commitment: 2 hours on Sunday and some practive during the week. Age Requirement: 16 years old
The Majestic First Impressions
Check-in, first time escort, children’s advocate, mascot, and service leader volunteers make up this ministry. Time Commitment: 45 minutes on Sunday, every week or every other week Age Requirement: 18 years old/21 years old
The Majestic Theater Special Needs Ministry
Serve by shadowing a special needs child that may require a little extra help in their age appropriate classroom, or work inn a self contained classroom with another volunteer and one or two special needs children. Time Commitment: 1.5 hours on Sunday, every week or every other week Age Requirement: 18 years old
Children’s Ministry teams exist to unveil God’s love to the children and families of The Village Chapel. Volunteers serve on Sunday mornings with 6-week olds to 6th graders.
Student Ministry
Small Group Leader
Lead small group discussions and develop relationships with our High School and Middle School students. Time Commitment: 3 hours on Wednesday nights Age Requirement: 19 years old (one year out of high school)
Ops Team
Greet, usher, park and direct traffic, and check-in students as they arrive. Time Commitment: 3 hours on Wednesday nights Age Requirement: 19 years old (one year out of high school)
Student Ministry teams serve middle and high school students of The Village Chapel during the Wednesday night student gathering, Sunday School, and the yearly retreats and mission trips.
