Missionary Update: Dan Finfrock

November 13, 2008

Dan Finfrock is the Director of Intensive Care Ministries and a missionary we support. He just sent us an update from his latest trip;

Greetings!

I just returned from a very fruitful trip to Tanzania.  We had a eager group of pastors and Christian workers who went through the Inductive Bible study seminar.  Our staff present were Igor and Alex from Russia, Peter from Kenya, Moses from Uganda and Troy from Tanzania all joined me in teaching the seminar.  I was thrilled to see each staff member teaching the IBS.  The participants caught the concept and we gave out certificates on the last day.  It was interesting to see Alex from Russia teach because he does not speak English very well, so Igor translated for him from Russian into English and another brother translated the English into Swahili.  Surprisingly it flowed very well with the three.   It was a fun time together.  After the seminar our staff meet together for 4 more days and I was able to instruct them more on how to teach the IBS effectively.  On Sunday we split our staff into two groups and went out to two different churches.  My group went to a remote area and shared at a tiny little church that was very poor.  The church building was put together by scrap wood that was falling apart.  The congregation of about 50 sang and prayed with great enthusiasm.  It was refreshing to see their joy.  When it came time for the sermon, they listened with great interest as I taught out of 2nd Peter about growing in our faith.  Thank you for your prayer support during this time.  It was much appreciated.  –Dan

Presidential Prayer Team

November 8, 2008

I am encouraging everyone to join the Presidential Prayer Team. With the transition taking place between Presidents our job is to cover both men in prayer. Put aside all of your opinions and just pray. This is for our country and God tells us to submit to our leaders (1 Peter 2:13) and pray for them (1 Tim 2:1-4).
